So much for Autumn! Something is always changing...

So, the first winter storm is here. No sign of big snow fall, just snow flurries, but I hear it is coming. It seems like something is always changing, whether it is the weather or something personal. For now, the big change is that we will be having another child. I am pregnant and expecting in May. I am not sure what to say about it, it was a shock! I wanted to have one more baby, but I wanted to wait until we were both ready. I was thinking maybe this winter or next spring, but Steve was thinking maybe never. But as we all know, we don't always have control of everything. I can't help but feel grateful and am starting to get excited. It's hard to feel excited when you are sick and tired, but I do have those occasional days of normalcy and in those moments I am excited. Soon I will feel better, be fat, and be excited!

Besides being pregnant and not feeling like myself, I have been busy. I have had several photo shoots that I haven't posted. I will be sure to get some up soon. This is the time of year that families want pictures for the holidays. I love it. It is fun to see people and their families. 

Autumn Time!

So life is settling down after summer. All the kids are in school everyday and it has become very quiet at my home again. It has been nice. The weather is cooling off a bit and the nights are starting to smell like Autumn time. I love when the leaves change colors and I can start opening windows and letting the cool breeze blow through the house. I love this time of year, but I hate that summer is ending and winter is approaching. 

I love making soup in the fall.  If any of you have any good recipes, feel free to send them to me. Also, halloween costume time. I love halloween and trick or treating. The kids get so excited and look so cute!! 

So, goodbye to the hot summer days (well it never really got hot). I am looking forward to the next few months... after that I may become depressed and bitter because the snow will be upon us!!

Karate!

Cole and Taylor started Karate this week. They were so excited! I love it because it is all about learning respect and self discipline. And who knew that the first three rules of karate are: 1. Obey your parents 2. Keep your room clean, and 3. No fighting. Had I know that I would have enrolled them years ago. They are really excited for their second lesson because it is where they earn their white belt. In order to do that, they have to work on those first three rules all week and they have to work on using kind words. I love it. Cole has reminded Taylor several times this morning about the rules of Karate so that he will not whine and just do what I ask. We will see how long it will last, but for now I am loving it.

School is back in!!

Cole started first grade last Thursday! He was so excited to get to see friends and play on the big kid playground. He loved getting to bring his lunch, but was disappointed when he saw that the kids who bought lunch had corn dogs. Oh well, you can't win them all. Taylor started pre-school, and least the thinks he did. He goes to a ladies home in my ward during the days while I work. She is doing pre-school activities with him, so he thinks it is pre-school, and he night as well. It is pretty much the same thing, right?!

Here is another sneak peak for a wedding I recently did. It was another beautiful garden wedding. It was so windy and raining that morning at the temple. It dies down just enough for us to grab a few nice shots. Luckily it cleared up by that evening and the reception was perfect. More shots to come!

This past Friday I shot Jessica and Chase's wedding. It was a beautiful day and despite the rain that came in the middle of the reception, we got some beautiful pictures. Check back for more pictures!! 

Mr. Clean with febreze.

So, I love to buy cleaning supplies. I usually just want that crisp fresh lemon or citric orange scent. So, the other I went out on a limb and bought Mr. Clean with febreze, the Meadows and Rain scent. It is pure heaven. I love the way it smells and how it makes my house smell when I clean with it! So, if you love a clean fresh scent, I highly suggest buying it and "no", no one is paying me to post this. I just love to share a good find!!

Scott and Linda

I recently shoot a wedding for Scott and Linda up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was so beautiful up there. It makes me wonder why I don't take my children up the canyons more. This was a small casual wedding and it was so much fun. The people there were clearly very happy for the couple... and the couple, well, they couldn't stop smiling. So, I've been busy!

I know this post is long over due. The summer is slipping away so fast and it seems there is never enough time. I have been busy going on little mini-trips, having birthday parties, going to the pool, game nights at the park, shooting pictures, working, etc. 

I can't believe school already starts in less than two weeks. I have managed to get school shopping done for the boys. We also went to the dentist and filled all their cavities. I wish there was time for one more vacation, but there isn't. August is already here and I will be busier than ever. I have several family photo sessions and 4 weddings this month. That may not seem like a lot, but when you work full time and try to run a house with 5 children coming in and out, it is. The dishwasher and washer and dryer are constantly running. Luckily, my husband helps with everything. I couldn't keep up without him. So, here are a few pictures from the past few months.

When Holly called me to take pictures of her family, she had a pretty good idea of what she wanted the final product to look like. I was excited to do these pictures for her because what she wanted was a high contrast textured photo. I love playing with the textures in photoshop. Here are a couple from the shoot. She was thrilled with the end result, and I LOVED doing them!
