Baby Elle

This post has been a long time in the making... over 9 months really. I am so excited to finally have my little girl here. She was born on May 12th at 3:50 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 4 ounces and measured 18.5 inches long. She is healthy and a very content little baby. She is a mother's dream baby and I feel very lucky that things have gone so smoothly with her.

 I know so many of you have been asking me when I would get pictures up... and I apologize it has taken so long. After delivery, I had a run in with kidney stones and ended up having lithotripsy surgery! Ugh. That is over with now and I am starting to get back on track. 

I want to thank all of you for all your kindness and support. I have been overwhelmed with love and generosity from family, friends, and neighbors. Thank you so much. I feel very blessed.

I did a little mini photo shoot yesterday of Elle and plan on trying to get more pictures done this week. Here is a sneak peak!

 

Spring is in the air and Wedding Expo winners!

Today I was at Thanksgiving Point as a vendor at the Wedding Expo. It was so much fun and I met some really fun and beautiful brides and grooms. There is just something about people who are engaged and in love. It was really fun to see some of the grooms patiently walk around with their brides. You could just tell they were so happy to have found someone that they want to spend their life with. Love it! 

So on to the more exciting news... winners from the Wedding Expo. So, I had so many people enter the drawing for a free bridal or engagement session. I am overwhelmed by all the entries and feel bad that I am picking only one... so I decided to pick two!!! And the winners are...

So, I got home this evening to find spring blooming in my yard. I love all the blossoms that are budding and opening up. I just love this time of year.
 

 

 

Thanksgiving Point Wedding Expo

Yes, I am still taking pictures!!!

So, I have had many people ask if I am still taking pictures even though I have a baby coming... the answer is yes!! I'm planning on taking a little time off to recover, but I am still booking all types of sessions. Please don't hesitate to contact me. 

Baby girl... 6 weeks to go!

So, I know I posted about being pregnant and then pretty much checked out! Sorry! So, for those of you that haven't heard, I am having a girl! I am thrilled. Bring on the ribbons, bows, and everything pink!

It is down to the last little bit and I don't feel close to ready!! We are still working on our basement to make room for this little one. I have been busy taking pictures, designing logos, designing announcements and invitations, taking care of kids, etc. It seems like life never slows down... and I love it!!! 

We just got back from St. George. Steve and I took the kids down for Spring Break. What a blast! Even though the weather wasn't that great, we swam and swam and swam. I'm not sure what it is about kids and water, but they love it. We stayed at my Dad's house. He felt bad about the weather, so he cracked the temperature on the pool and hot tub. It was hilarious to watch the kids swim even though it was cold and windy. By the last day it warmed up a bit and they kids came home with tan lines!! What a teaser for summer. I can't wait for things to warm up here. 

So much for Autumn! Something is always changing...

So, the first winter storm is here. No sign of big snow fall, just snow flurries, but I hear it is coming. It seems like something is always changing, whether it is the weather or something personal. For now, the big change is that we will be having another child. I am pregnant and expecting in May. I am not sure what to say about it, it was a shock! I wanted to have one more baby, but I wanted to wait until we were both ready. I was thinking maybe this winter or next spring, but Steve was thinking maybe never. But as we all know, we don't always have control of everything. I can't help but feel grateful and am starting to get excited. It's hard to feel excited when you are sick and tired, but I do have those occasional days of normalcy and in those moments I am excited. Soon I will feel better, be fat, and be excited!

Besides being pregnant and not feeling like myself, I have been busy. I have had several photo shoots that I haven't posted. I will be sure to get some up soon. This is the time of year that families want pictures for the holidays. I love it. It is fun to see people and their families. 

Autumn Time!

So life is settling down after summer. All the kids are in school everyday and it has become very quiet at my home again. It has been nice. The weather is cooling off a bit and the nights are starting to smell like Autumn time. I love when the leaves change colors and I can start opening windows and letting the cool breeze blow through the house. I love this time of year, but I hate that summer is ending and winter is approaching. 

I love making soup in the fall.  If any of you have any good recipes, feel free to send them to me. Also, halloween costume time. I love halloween and trick or treating. The kids get so excited and look so cute!! 

So, goodbye to the hot summer days (well it never really got hot). I am looking forward to the next few months... after that I may become depressed and bitter because the snow will be upon us!!

Of course I can't leave a post without some pictures. Here are a couple I did the other day! Isn't Macy adorable!

Karate!

Cole and Taylor started Karate this week. They were so excited! I love it because it is all about learning respect and self discipline. And who knew that the first three rules of karate are: 1. Obey your parents 2. Keep your room clean, and 3. No fighting. Had I know that I would have enrolled them years ago. They are really excited for their second lesson because it is where they earn their white belt. In order to do that, they have to work on those first three rules all week and they have to work on using kind words. I love it. Cole has reminded Taylor several times this morning about the rules of Karate so that he will not whine and just do what I ask. We will see how long it will last, but for now I am loving it.

School is back in!!

Cole started first grade last Thursday! He was so excited to get to see friends and play on the big kid playground. He loved getting to bring his lunch, but was disappointed when he saw that the kids who bought lunch had corn dogs. Oh well, you can't win them all. Taylor started pre-school, and least the thinks he did. He goes to a ladies home in my ward during the days while I work. She is doing pre-school activities with him, so he thinks it is pre-school, and he night as well. It is pretty much the same thing, right?!

Here is another sneak peak for a wedding I recently did. It was another beautiful garden wedding. It was so windy and raining that morning at the temple. It dies down just enough for us to grab a few nice shots. Luckily it cleared up by that evening and the reception was perfect. More shots to come!
